Sinatra Celebrity Cookbook: Sample Recipes
Frank
Sinatra, Jr's Sauteed Zucchini
- 1 clove garlic chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 small zucchinis, unpeeled, cut into
julienne sticks
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, salt, pepper
- 4 tablespoons grated parmesan or romano
cheese
- Saute garlic in olive oil until brown,
remove and discard.
- Add zucchini and saute.
- Add parsley and basil and stir zucchini
until the herbs have been distributed throughout.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve, topping with about a tablespoon
of cheese per serving.
- Makes about 4 servings.
Frank Sinatra, Jr's Italian Salad Dressing
- 1 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 clove garlic minced
- Combine all ingredients in screw-top
jar.Ê
- Cover and shake thoroughly.
- Makes 1-1/3 cups.
Frank Sinatra, Jr's Recipe for Spaghetti Sauce
- 3 ounces olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 small onion
- 1 2-1/2 can Italian style plum tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- Salt and pepper
- 6 leaves fresh sweet basil
- Chop garlic and onion as fine as possible,
saute in skillet in olive oil until golden brown.
- Run tomatoes in blender (3 seconds).Ê
Add to skillet.
- Add salt, pepper, oregano and basil.
- Let simmer on a low flame, stirring constantly
for about 20 minutes
- Serves 1 pound of your favorite pasta.

Danza's Half-hour Red Sauce
- 2 cans of Plum tomatoes with basil
- 2 cans tomato paste (small cans)
- One half cup parmesan cheese
- Package of basil leaves
- 6 nice sized pieces of garlic
- Good shot of Italian red wine
- Pinch of salt and pepper to taste ( a
lot)
- One half cup olive oil * Strain tomatoes
in colander, squeeze and discard pulp.
- Add basil, cheese, salt, pepper and wine
to strained tomato mixture; cook on low flame. * Brown garlic in oil and
add paste; cook for five minutes.
- Add to tomato mixture and cook for 20
more minutes.
