"Bob (Hope) and I both have streets named after us in Rancho Mirage. I used to tease him that his street was wider and mine was thinner. When he'd tell me that his street was prettier, I'd remind Bob that every night around cocktail time his street was dark but mine was always lit up." Frank Sinatra (Mr. Hope contributed " Bob's Favorite Chicken Hash") "

Jackie Gleason and I would get Sammy in a booth between the two of us at Toots Shor's in New York and wouldn't let him go until he wrote at least two hits, which took about five minutes. And then we still wouldn't let him go." Frank Sinatra "

Bono and Edge's visit to our home in Rancho Mirage to shoot the Duets video with Frank was the beginning of a special friendship. In addition to their love of music, Frank and Bono both paint. Here were these two music icons sitting at our bar talking about oils versus acrylics, color, and interpretation of abstract shapes. Frank and I value Bono's gifts to the Children's Center and his continued courtesies." Barbara Sinatra "

When I did ÔConcert for the Americas,' Barbara and I stayed at Oscar's magnificent estate on the coast of the Dominican Republic. It was a long way from the days when my aunts, uncles, cousins, and my parents spent summers on the Jersey Shore." Frank Sinatra re Oscar de la Renta "

I like to call Liza my daughter because I was with her father, Vincent, when she was born. Her first cries sounded like an Italian opera coming from the nursery -- a Star had been born." Frank Sinatra "

Paul Newman has blue eyes; Frank has blue eyes. Paul is a great actor & Frank is a great actor. Paul is very handsome and so is Frank. Paul won an Oscar; Frank won an Oscar. Frank's picture is on albums, and Paul's is on salad dressing, pasta, and popcorn. Joanne and I are just lucky, I guess." Barbara Sinatra (Paul Newman's recipe is Italian Baked Scrod) "

When I was a kid I didn't know much beyond the ethnic foods of Hoboken. Jewish, Polish, Irish, and Italian mamas made sure all of us neighborhood kids were well fed. Often we were told to Ômangia' in seven languages. "Frank Sinatra"

"Barbara and I enjoyed testing Elizabeth's (Taylor) Spicy Chicken -- we like heat in our food. It's a good thing the recipe didn't call for carrots though, because when that lady asks for carrots it could cost you half a mil! "Frank Sinatra"

A few days after Frank and I returned from Hawaii where Blue Eyes did a ÔMagnum P.I., "Larry (Manetti) and his wife, Nancy, gave us one of their parrots, Rocky. We adore Rocky and over the years his vocabulary has greatly expanded. He now shows off by singing a few bars of ÔMy Way." And Rocky loves a party. He often climbs off his perch and waddles across the living room floor to the den and onto the back of a couch to join Frank, me, and our guests when we gather for cocktails before dinner -- a welcome uninvited guest!" Barbara Sinatra (Larry Manetti's recipe is Tuna Cutlets in Parsley & Bread Crumbs) "

If I thought Bob's recipe for Potato Latkes would make me sing like him, I'd have moved to Idaho! "Frank Sinatra on opera great Robert Merrill "

I know we're supposed to eat slowly and chew carefully. But, when I was a kid growing up in Hoboken, you had to eat fast before someone grabbed the plate. "Frank Sinatra"

Home-gardener Angela Lansbury describes her Famous Power Loaf: "The dough rising takes about an hour to an hour and a quarter, so I sometimes start the dough, then go out to the garden while it's rising."

Farrah Fawcett about her Fresh Tomato Sauce recipe: "I was able to get this recipe by literally going down to the kitchen and watching (and helping) this lovely French woman prepare it. We were staying in the south of France and whenever I have this dish, it brings back the loveliest memories of Ryan and me with our friends in Cap Ferrat, France."

From Chef Raimund Hofmeister of L.A.'s Century Plaza Hotel on a recipe specially prepared for the President of the United States: "This recipe was served to President Ronald Reagan on Dec. 27, 1994, at the new tower suite of the Century Plaza Hotel, for a quiet dinner for two." The entree was Supreme of Capon with Celery & Mushrooms with Tarragon Flavored Lemon Sauce.

Lloyd Bridges' recipe for a family favorite, Cardamom Christmas Cookies: "These cookies are a family affair, a project for little and big kids to get their hands into, literally. Beau, Jeff, Lucinda and our eight grandchildren take turns around the kitchen table and go to it. We pack up tins of these cookies to send out the family holiday spirit."
